About Us
Emed Health Mission Statement
Emed Health exists to improve public health and safety by developing and/ or promulgating evidence-based programs that integrate public health initiatives into emergency departments and emergency medical services.

Emed Health Vision Statement

Emed Health will be the national organization leading efforts to promote public and preventive health programs in EMS and in Emergency Departments that are based on the best available scientific evidence and that can be placed into actual practice.

What Does Emed Health Do?
Emed Health uses a unique model for community and home-based prevention and disease management programs by subcontracting with EMS agencies to deliver all services.  This "EMS Model" strives to:
  • Reduce health care costs
  • Increase the quality of patients' lives
  • Improve satisfaction for patients and third party payers
  • Create an additional line of revenue for EMS agencies
  • Increase the number of well-paying EMS jobs, and
  • Create an alternate career path for EMS workers

How Does Emed Health Do This?

Emed Health minimizes costs by utilizing the excess EMS system capacity and existing EMS infrastructure, malpractice insurance and workman’s compensation.  EMS providers are ideally suited for this role because they are well-integrated into the community and familiar with patients.  Emed Health provides contracts with third party payers for these services, develops the programs, coordinates the service delivery, analyzes the data and institutes quality assurance programs.
